Okay i have seen simular posts i dont know if this issue has already been solved if so am sorry for asking again, anyway

My issue. ...i have Prodigy internet (i live in Toluca, mexico) and its been connect maybe a month. well as of late...

My messengers get connected and disconnect alot. over and over maybe every 3 mins. (but theres still net i dont lose the connection totaly)

my onlie games also disconnect almost as offten

I cannot download files after 5 mins they stop.

well yeah thats it so far. its not losing the connection while the whole time i can access web pages.. i dont know if it matters but...I have

Windows Xp home SP2
Mcafee ....
well i dont knwo what other info could help but i never had this issue before.

any help would be great

I am not familiar with your internet service providor,sorry.
However you have cable broad band?Have you tried turning off modem and wait 2 mins then repower up modem?A modem should be powered up before PC/laptop.
Is your network card driver up to date?

Have you checked your ISPs web site to see if they have a server issue?

You may want to do this prework and post the results back here as you are having problems staying connected and downloading?

yes i tried the modem thing a few times. and well theres nothing on the providers site about this. it feels almost asif the connnection drops really fast then back up again. ever few mins. something else i can change or try to help u guys help me?

update= i tried resetting the modem manully and thought the home settings...hmm i tried everything suggest or i read on other posts. i could really use help please. i can use the we browers tho alot of times i get ¨page not found¨ or what ever i just have to refreash but still i cant play games or download or even watch online videos.
