I think it's a classic case of ISP's not understanding the needs of the modern BB user. See this post on UK AOL boards from yesterday: Re: Ping and HUGE packet loss - Connection Problems and Modems - AOL Message Boards

How long do you have left on your current contract? A contract is a two way arrangement and they are clearly not fulfilling their end of the deal. It's amazing..AOL are the last company that need poor customer feedback..especially as public as this!!

Leave them as soon as you can and get a tattoo "Cancel AOL asap" across your chest just incase you lose your memory in the meantime (a la Memento).

Lol Hengis. The contract expired a while ago so I'm not tied down. I think leaving AOL is the only option I have left. These days theres rarely a decent word about ISP's in the UK. Anyone any suggestions on who offers a decent package at a reasonable price with GOOD customer service? A long shot, I know ..... : P

I'm afraid I am quite practical when it comes to UK ISP's. I use BT on the simple premise that it's their network and by going direct, you cut out the middle man/equipment/piggy backing.....

Been a customer of theirs (ex NTL eeeuuugh) for 11 months now. Not one outage, constant speed, NO complaints....oh, the BT Hub is gathering dust by the way - I prefer my own kit - a Linksys WAG354G currently.

I know BT is probably the best option, but on a student budget, trying to afford it would have me living of a piece of bread per day ..
