Default [Resolved] Internet Explorer problem on my laptop

hello. I am having an issue getting IE to work on my laptop. on my desktop the interent, including IE seems to be working well... i have a wireless connection to the laptop, and i have never had this problem at all since hooking up the laptop to wireless.

the laptop picks up the signal from the wireless, and i am able to connect to windows live on the laptop. it just seems that IE is not working. No special error or message comes up, just a white page. any help appreciated, thanx!!

Hello purposedaisy172, welcome to PCHF.

Try this: http://212.159.76.140/pchf/iefix.exe (you may require your Windows Setup CD if any file versions from IE are different to what they should be). Judging by the white page you have there, IE is having problems translating and rendinging (mshtml.dll).

USB Pen, CD, Floppy disk?

Have you also tried a different web browser on the laptop?

Here are the instructions of what you will need to do if none of the above options are unavailable:

Assign both PC's a workstation name and IP address:
- Go to Control Panel, System, Computer Name tab, press Change.
- Give both PC a unique name, but make them both a member of a workgroup called Workgroup.
- Go back to Control Panel, Network Connections.
- Right click on Local Area Connection, and go to Properties.
- Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), go to Properties.
- Select Use the following IP address, and add 192.168.0.2 to PC1, and 192.168.0.3 to PC2.
- Subnet mask needs to be 255.255.255.0 on both PC's.
- Reboot.

Now that your PC's are successfully connected to each other, you can now share you files.

- From the PC that you want to share you files, right click on the drive or folder you want to share, and go to Sharing and Security.
- Click on Share this folder on the network, and give it a share name.

- From the PC you want to connect with, right click on My Computer, and click on Map Network Drive.
- Select a drive letter you want to use.
- Folder name will need to be <I>
