Re: Internet Explorer problem on my laptop
USB Pen, CD, Floppy disk?
Have you also tried a different web browser on the laptop?
Here are the instructions of what you will need to do if none of the above options are unavailable:
Assign both PC's a workstation name and IP address:
- Go to Control Panel, System, Computer Name tab, press Change.
- Give both PC a unique name, but make them both a member of a workgroup called Workgroup.
- Go back to Control Panel, Network Connections.
- Right click on Local Area Connection, and go to Properties.
- Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), go to Properties.
- Select Use the following IP address, and add 192.168.0.2 to PC1, and 192.168.0.3 to PC2.
- Subnet mask needs to be 255.255.255.0 on both PC's.
- Reboot.
Now that your PC's are successfully connected to each other, you can now share you files.
- From the PC that you want to share you files, right click on the drive or folder you want to share, and go to Sharing and Security.
- Click on Share this folder on the network, and give it a share name.
- From the PC you want to connect with, right click on My Computer, and click on Map Network Drive.
- Select a drive letter you want to use.
- Folder name will need to be <I>
