I bought a refurbished computer, downloaded xp, everything is working except the internet. i can get a wireless signal and connect but if i run the wire (which is much faster connection) it says i can't connect because the driver for the ethernet controller hasn't been installed. Does anybody know how i can find out where i can get the driver? I don't even know where to begin...

Hi joe, have you tried right clicking on the ethernet controller in Device manager and installing the driver from there?

No, its like it won't even recognize it, it just shows ethernet controller with a yellow exclamation point next to it and says that the drivers for this hardware have not been downloaded.
