Hi Dave,

I'm a little concerned that your naked, but lets keep it topical.
I have 8mb BT broadband, and what i have noticed, is that they traffic specific data.
,for example, I can download during the day at 400kbps through IE7, but torrent and file sharing progams (such as torrents and Limewire) are limited 50kbps. During peak times, my IE7 is limited to 300 -400kbps and p2p programs 15 - 20kbps. During the night, like after 1am IE7 will be 800+kbps and p2p programs are 500 - 600kbps.

If you want all round broadband width, go aol, but theyre more expensive. i used to be with them, they were flawless as far as bandwidth and trafficing was concerned. But you have to pay for it .

Maybe the router is working on kbps (bits) instead of kBps (Bytes)

There are 8 bits in 1 Byte, most internet providers go by "bits" to make them sound faster. For example, im on 8 mb broadband (8 mega BIT) so a max bandwidth speed of 1 mega BYTE (1000kbps). It will never get up to that speed as it is trafficed, and also the PC is always upload data.
