Default Tech support couldnt help, can you?

This all began about 2 weeks ago. For some reason my connection to the web got really slow around 192kb/s but i pay for 1.5mb/s. I called tech support and got no help. They want to rewire my whole house for 95 bucks an hour. I tried everything, restarting , leaving it off for a day, plugging it into a new jack, nothing helped. I tried all the steps tech support said and nothing at all helped. Then out of the blue it works again getting around 1.5mb/s for bout 3 days then BAM back to 192kb/s. Anyone have any idea what could bog my connection down? I'm using a Westell Virsalink 327W with Verizon being my isp. Oh and for some odd reason my upload is fine sitting at 500kb/s which is what i pay for. Any help would be nice so i don't have to rewire my whole house.

Howdy JH805 and welcome to PCHF...

Can you tell me if you have DSL or Cable..

If you have DSL the speed will vary. Like I have dsl I pay for 10 megabit download and 1.5 upload speed.
But I never get that. I get around 8.5 megabit connection..

If you want you can go to DSL reports and run a test and let us know what they say..
Speed Test - dslreports.com

Just pick the closest location.

I have DSL and like you i used to get around 1.3mb/s and pay for 1.5 so i know it can very abit but im pretty sure something has to be wrong.

Now
224 KBits/Sec down
448 KBits/Sec up

Normal was
1436 KBits/Sec down
445 KBits/Sec up

The second one is a test i saved about a month ago.
