I tried to update my pc but i bought a piece of **** nvidia card (VERY STUPID OF ME, I will never buy from nvidia EVER again)

so I am back to where I started with my old card in. I reformatted before all this happened though and now I cant connect to steam. It starts to connect but just sits there forever "connecting to <account>"

Ive tried winsock xp fix and it didnt work. I tried looking around my router but I don't know what Im looking at. The only thing I have ever done with it is Port Forwarding and it was such a huge pain in the rear end because its NOT CALLED PORT FORWARDING. They have different names for anything.

After you reformatted and reinstalled the OS did you install SP2 or was it incorporated into the install cd?
Also, after installation, did you visit the Windows Update site and install all the critical updates? This is a must in order to assure your system is not vulnerable..

i installed from a cd but i figured out my problem by solving the other problem I posted about. When I turned off verifier.exe I was able to also connect to steam. verifier is a very powerful tool not to be taken lightly.
