Exclamation Problem with Drop Down Menus

Hello,

I'm having a problem with drop down menus. Mainly when in IE, but also on some programs. In IE7, whenever I try to click on the arrow of a drop down menu on a webpage, the yellow information bar at the top of the screen says that IE7 has blocked a popup, and the drop down menu doesn't actually drop down. Each and everytime I try to click on a drop down menu, it gives me a popup blocker warning. I even went and totally disabled the popup blocker utility in the internet tools, and it still says that it has blocked a popup. By the way, I am not using any other toolbars that blocks popups. I went and reset the Internet Explorer settings.

The advanced settings tab does not display a single thing! It is so weird. And when attempting to reset the advanced settings, I get a Windows error message and it shuts IE down.

I went under "manage" on My Computer to view the Error Events, it shows that there was an application error, and it gives me this file inetcpl.cpl as the file that the error is associated with.

Now I mentioned that some programs (ie. during installations and program setups) that have drop down menus, also do not work. The latest setup was attempting to get the Verizon Internet software installed. When it asked me to select a dial-in phone number (yes, I'm out inthe country, and no other alternative right now for internet service), I clicked ont he drop down box, and the drop down menu doesn't drop down for me to select a phone number. So I had to set that up manually and had to call to get an access phone number.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Bob
