Recently I was trying to make a dailup internet connection and recieved an Error 797 "a connection to the remote computer could not be established because the modem was not found or busy". Choosing "more info" I eventually entered Devise Manager where I saw a yellow exclamation point against my modem.
Choosing Properties the devise status said"This devise cannot start(code 10)" Choosing "trouble shoot..." it advises to uninstall and reinstall the devise.Is it safe to follow this instruction ?If I am given a choice , which port should I install it on? Can somebody please help me resolve this problem?I am not much too familiar with the internal workings of the computer,so I would be grateful if you could make your suggestions as simple as possible.I don't know if this information would help, but I have not installed or removed and software recently.Thanking you in advance.
Hi,RobMan,I can't get an internet connection with my own computer, any ideas how loading this latest version of the driver can be done.Do I have to load it to a removable devise first and then load it unto my computer. Please help. Would appreciate all finer details.Thanks in advance.
You need to download the file and then transfer it to your computer that is connected to the modem (easiest way is something like an USBstorage device). At the manufacturers website or in the readme.txt file that comes with the driver are instructions of how to update the firmware of the modem.
