Question [Answered] Wireless signal goes awol on me when phone rings!

Hello PCHF

I'm sure this issue has come up before on this forum, but here goes.

Everytime I'm on my laptop and connected to my wireless Netgear router, the Internet temporarliy gets disconnected everytime my landline phone starts ringing. Now I heard that you could change the "frequency" of the signal or something of the sort but I have no idea how to go about doing something like that. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Thanks in advance.

Hi there, what i would do first of all is move the router away from any phones, microwaves, set top boxes etc as these operate at the same frequency as the router which is 2.4GHz.

Next you can change the channel that the router broadcasts on by accessing your routers admin pages either via http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1
