Hi all,

I'm brand new here and I'm having an issue with my Westell 6100 modem not syncing up when there is rain in the area. Sometimes it happens even when the rain isn't at my house, but just in the general area. I think it is something in the lines, but Bellsouth tested and said it tested good. But it wasn't raining when they tested it so.......... Any thoughts? I never have a connection issue other than when it rains. Thanks in advance.

Hi welcome to the forum I'd say this is a definate line problem by the sound of it here in Australia we call the telephone company and report a line fault and they can run a diag at the phone company so best to call them when it is playing up so the diag will see somthing is wrong.

One of the other users will know what to do in the U.S

Here we have 1 major phone company that owns all the lines, and then everyone else rents them off them...

So they can charge whatever they want...I know someone who works in one of their call centres...and if they don't like someone (such as an annouying customer) there's a special hold button...which sends them into a "void"...and noone can get them back

There's still the usual "your call is important to us" recording...but noone ever picks up...

You might consider querying your ISP instead of the phone company.
Let the ISP query the phone company.

Option two: Change ISP.

Thanks for your reply. Too bad my ISP is my phone company as well!! I've got a line techician coming Saturday. He's suppose to trace down the problem. We'll see........... If that doesn't work then I am going to change to cable. Why pay for something that you can only use part of the time!
