This problem started a couple of days ago. I noticed it first with Yahoo as I have a couple of e-mail addresses there. Downloading the e-mail login page is agonizingly slow, and when it's completed, the normal Yahoo graphics, ads, fonts and layout are missing. It's just a page full of unstylized text. From there, it's equally slow following the links to actually read an e-mail. At first, I thought Yahoo might be having server problems. But, it seems it's my PC... as I've done a lot of surfing and covered a lot of Net real estate since then with no issues at all... or at least nothing like I'm experiencing with Yahoo.

Yesterday, I noticed I'm having the same type of issue with Ebay. It downloads so slow that I haven't yet had the time or patience to see if it times out, or I end up with a wierd-looking page similar to when any page from Yahoo downloads. Does anybody have an idea of what's causing this, and how it might be corrected? I have the same experience through both Internet Explorer and Firefox 2.0. And, I've done some disk clean-up and defragmentation in an effort to see if any maintenance activities would alleviate these problems. They haven't. Help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
