Which kind of domain is more appealing?
Examples
1. del.icio.us or delicious.com
2. ToysR.us or ToysRUs.com
3. House.com or Hou.se

So which is it? The whole thing is a word, or a word and then a dot whatever?

It depends on the word. I can be as clever as you want, but if it's something that people can't remember, then it's not worth much. Some may find it hard to remember where to put the full stop. del.icio.us is terrible, where delicious.com is easy. When you first see del.icio.us, you may not immediately think delicious, you may think it is some spanish website.

ToysR.us is very clever and probably even easier to remember than ToysRUs.com.

Hou.se.. clever, but again.. would much rather house.com.

O because the domain I had in mind was blahr.us, but its 6 letter word.

Actually i never thought of that being delicious. Just shows. I just thought it was some random name from another language.

im with upgrader, i never thought of delicious, but of course which is better depends on the word, normally the full word with .com on the end is easier
