Default Modem error 630

Have just put Psion Goldcard PCMCIA modem in Dell Inspiron 3200 laptop but keep getting error message 630. Am using Win98. Have tried disabling serialkey devices. The modem defaults to COM3 - should it be using COM1?. Laptop was formerly used on network. Any advice very welcome.

First, check your system drivers by clicking on Start>Windows(Microsoft) Update. Click for Custom updates. Second, recommend you click on DriverAgent.com Fix Your Driver Problems Instantly with Driver Agent and check the status of your non-system drivers.
