Default [Resolved] Error Message: Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage

My PC will randomly lose its internet connection. The only way restore internet connection is to reboot the PC, but connection will only last for a few minutes then I will lose it again. I have 4 PCs connected to a router. 3 wired and 1 wireless. All have XP Home SP2 and Internet Explorer 7. The problem is only on 1 wired. I have reset the cable modem and the router. Bypassed the router. replaced the cable. My NIC card is built in to the motherboard. I replaced it with a PCI NIC card. Windows Update is current. My anti-virus/spyware is updated and finds nothing. I can't think of anymore troubleshooting to do. Any advice? thanks. Damian

Hello Damian1999, welcome to PCHF!

This only happens to your PC, not the other three is that right?

It sounds like you have some software on your PC preventing you from accessing the internet. What security software (anti-virus, firewall) do you have installed on you PC, and have you tried to disable it to see if you can connect normally?

A little note..... if you have one that runs dial-up.. make sure that it is set to never drop connection... it affects all!!

And as 'MadMonkey has stated..... re-check the settings on your software,,,.. there may be more than one that drops you out.... even with dialup, there are 3 that are known, but most do not know about them. And yes..... it WILL affect your wireless... the system only knows what it has been told..

Information of your system is very much needed if you want help.
Just as AMD has asked about.
