Thumbs down Firefox going dowhill?

Well I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but ever since I upgraded to 2.0 my Firefox has been lagging, crashing, taking up a LOT of memory (at times up to 100MB or more). Is there anything I can do to get my clean, quick, simple Firefox back? Would I need to downgrade? If so, wouldn't all the addons be out of date?

As a last resort, I would welcome any suggestions for better browsers. Not too happy with Opera or Safari, and let's not even talk about IE.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

As far as I know is Firefox one of the better browsers in the market...
I've heard a lot about crashing Firefox 2.0, check the comments on this site:
BetaNews | Mozilla Launches Firefox 2.0 Browser

I would recommend that you install an old version of Firefox and wait some time untill there's a improved version of Firefox...

Firefox is good - but IE7 is the most secure at the moment...Firefox 3 is almost out - which will probably be infront again...but right at this very second...IE7 is "the most secure"
