Yes, absolutely. You can replace that Speedtouch with any ADSL Modem/Wireless Router

will it be continuously connected (even if my pc is not on) or do i have to connect everytime i log on?

The beauty of using a combined ADSL modem/router is that you add your ISP username and password into the router itself - so that you never need to log in thru the PC as the connection stays on all the time! Even when the PC is off!
