hi i was told that the futher u are from wall socket. u no the foneline thing thats in the wall. i dont no the technical name. any way that the futher u are from that thing the worse ur conection gets. nw my conection is 6.49 meg and the conection in my room wich is the floor above the main conection is just abel to play sum games online. now i was going to be trading rooms with my brother and moveing up into the attic wich will make it 2 floors above the main socket i was assumeing that it will baisicly make the conection unplayabel so i was wandering how to get around that?

That depends.

How are you connecting to the internet? Just running cable? and if so from where, the phone line or some kind of router?

If it's cabling then you shouldn't have much difference in speed decrease unless you're running over huge distances so I'd either look at changing the microfilters or checking the cable.

well theres a cabel runing from the foneline into a router and my pc and xbox are hooked up to that.

Cat 5 cable has a maximum distance of 100m, safely I'd say 90-95m so aslong as you aren't exeeding that you shouldn't have any slow downs.
