Question issues connecting through certain programs

hey there, i have a laptop, and a pc. my pc has no internet connection issues, but my laptop can not make a connection to the internet through certain programs, including, but not limited to yahoo messenger, internet explorer, and google earth.

i've got trillian, and firefox, but i would really like to use google earth on my laptop. i have no idea what the problem is. i can surf just fine with firefox, and my speed is great. could it be a port issue?

i have cable internet, and a linksys wireless router. i am running winXP. i have a firewall setup through McAfee, but even when i turn it off, the same issues arise.

help me pchelpforum, you're my only hope!

It's not going to be a port setting between Firefox and Internet Explorer - all HTTP traffic goes over the same port.

I'd say it's a firewall issue...but it could be Windows Firewall.

If you goto Control Panel -> Windows Firewall -> set to Off.
See if this helps.
