When I click on a link to download something nothing happens. Using Internet Explorer 7 can't change it because I can't download. Tried turning off every firewall and pop up blocker.

Goto your Internet Settings and check what level of security your IE is set at. If it's set too high, it will block downloads. Try putting it to medium or so.

I've tried everything that could link to internet options I think but nothing comes up each time. Could my Internet Explorer just be currupted or something

Hi duckgod, welcome to the PCHF.

No, it is by design that IE7 stops things that you didn't allow.

What are you trying to download? Is it everything? or just a particular site?

It won't let me download any files no matter the site. No error message appears just nothing happens when I press the link. Also when I try to change the Internet properties oon the toolbar or control panels nothing comes up. Could this be fixed by installing firefox?

That's not really fixing, it's more like avoiding the problem

When you goto download a file, does a "pale yellow" bar appear just under the address bar?
