Default dsl disconnects when uploading files with any ftp client

So after transfering a few files with my ftp client, I lose my dsl connecion. It happens no matter what ftp client I use and it happens on any server I am uploading my files too.

right now I am currently running on windows xp and I am using Embarq dsl service. I have already contacted them and they said my line is clear. I have tried using both my laptop and my desk top. I have also tried turning off my firewall and keeping my firewall turned on.

Anyone know what could be the problem?

Hi there and welcome to PCHF

What equipment are you using to connect to your ISP - make/model numbers of routers etc?
