Exclamation [Answered] Internet Explorer

Well... a while back my computer caught a few trojans..and i believe i cleaned them out. But, one of them messed up my internet explorer... my friend came over and deleted the whole internet explorer folder and i just used firefox. That was good for a while, but i need ie 5+ for certain things. I try to install ie 6, but it tells me that i have a better version. I cant install ie7 because my windows isnt genuine. I tryed to delete all traces of ie.. even in my registry, but it still wont install. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Yuscu2,

Please can you check out PCHF Rules on the support here for illegal software. Your using Windows XP? To receive a legal copy, it costs as little as $89 from SHOP.COM - UPG WINDOWS XP HOME ADDL LIC and would resolve your IE7 download problems, and any other Microsoft downloads that require verification.

Yep, I'm afraid so!

When you buy one copy of XP, you receive one cd key, one license and therefore only entitled to install that on a single PC.

Great stuff. It just occured to me also, that Internet Explorer was deleted manually? It's not really possible to get rid of Internet Explorer completely, as it's built in to Windows. Even Windows Updates requires IE. In the meantime, you should be able to access it by opening up "My Computer". Go to View, Toolbars, and make sure Address Bar is ticked. From the address bar, just type in the internet address you want to go to!

EDIT: Marked as answered.
