Default [Resolved] 1/2 internet problem

I recently formatted my computer from a pirated copy of windows to a legit copy that i purchased. Since then, the internet has not worked right. I use to be able to go to any site I wanted on the internet but now the most valuable ones do not work. I can't check my online banking at www.suntrust.com because I get the error message. Same goes for pricewatch.com. I also play a game called company of heroes where I get an error that says cannot connect to update server. So I can't update my game and play it online. I go directly to their website THQ - Company of HeroesŪ and try to download the patch from there and get the same error screen.

The Error screen says the problems could be
Not connected to the internet
The website is not working, etc etc, standard error screen for not being able to connect to the internet. I run the internet connectivity test and it comes back saying my connection is fine.

So I can go to most of the websites except for these that I know of. I can connect to teamspeak, ventrilo, Battlefield 2 Online, all kinds of websites except for whichever ones the internet has selected not to display.

Any ideas? I've formatted twice now trying to fix the problem and have all of my windows updates, motherboard drivers and updates, videocard drivers/updates, DX9c, you name it. I've tried to turn the windows firewall off and still get the same problem. I am not sure if I need to contact my ISP or Microsoft so I figured I'd ask you guys first.

Hello harabek,

Welcome to PCHF.

What is the exact error message you receive from Internet Explorer? Page Cannot be Displayed?

Are you using any other Security or Firewall software?

Well, sorry to waste your time. I did a little digging after you mentioned another firewall and remembered a message popping up during the install of my motherboard drivers. Infact, my motherboard came with a firewall of its own. Thanks for your help and a very quick response.

Forgot to mention that deleting the extra firewall fixed the problem.
