Unhappy Internet connection only when the phone is picked up!

Hey for a while now i have been having some serious internet problems, in short im with aol and have a netgear router its the broadband silver package and since a wierd disconnection issue i can only access the internet when the phone is 1. on (no phone calls needed just switched or picked up) or when making a call. Besides that my ADSL light flickers orange and there is no internet connecton, AOL insist its due to bad cable connections yet i dont trust a word they say and know for a fact every thing is connected the way it should be (filtered every peace). Bt did a line test after aol requsting me to get one and they say its perfectly fine (would think that as the phone line its self is ok) i am running out of things to do and would really like some help.

Oh by the way ... this is the wierd thing after being one the phone for about 4hours it worked and every thing was fine, but 2days ago i took out the filter from the phone line and the problem required, its doing the same thing.I have alo swpped the router with a speed touch (wat we used when with bulldog) and its the same results, the adsl light flickers, and only when the phones on will it work. Could it be with the actual phone line its self?

Welcome to PCHF Gbgoogle!

Is your router or modem plugged into your master phone socket and have you tried different filters?

The actual router AOl provided is a NetgearDG834 v3, the speedtouch was just to replace and see if it was the router that had the problem.

Oh right, i will see if i can find anything for you otherwise another member will reply. Although your best chances of help with an ISP are normally the ISP you are with, but i can see the call charges being annoying.

If you can get online for some amount of time go to AOL Keyword: Live Help and you can chat to a rep for free.

(btw i dont work for AOL, i hate them anyway)
