Unhappy [Fixed] Ethernet "Bridge"?

:cry: Our daughter was (wired) to the ethernet at college, now at home for a spell she can not access web pages on our dial up(HA HA I KNOW).
When she took her emachine to school they had to open the bridge? Now how do we close it? As we can connect, pages will not display. You know, this page cannot...

Hi, Niecarrah. Welcome to PCHF! I think this will fix your problem:

Goto the control panel
Open Network Connections
You should see "Network Bridge"
Right click on it and Click Disable

Unhappy Ethernet Bridge Help still Needed

Nathan I must appologize, but the emachine in question is XP Home sp1 and I did not tell you that and I am sorry. Upon opening where you said I could find NO mention of Network Bridge. I opened everything there and nothing?! Help

Small change in instructions:

In network connections , rightclick on youre network adapter and you should see it there.

if when you go into internet explorer dose it try to dial up it self if not it could be in internet options, connection and make sure that it is set to always dial my defualt conection.
