Default Problem with proxy settings in Mozilla Firefox

I have Windows XP and I have Roadrunner as my ISP. I'm using the latest edition of Mozilla Firefox and I am having problems with my proxy settings changing whenever I close the window. I had program called ZillaPopupKiller that I uninstalled from my computer, in the Connection settings under http proxy it keeps changing back to Zillapopupkiller. I uninstalled to program through add/remove programs. I have ran a virus scan, Adaware, and Spybot S&D, tried clearing my cache, temporary internet files, ect, and I can't seem to figure out how to get it to save my settings. I keep trying to change the settings back to what they should be, but every time I exit and reopen the window it changes back to the Zilla thing. I have Firefox set as my default browser, and I have tried changing the settings in both IE and Netscape with the same results. I keep getting a message that says "unable to find the proxy server". Does anyone have any suggestions for this?

Hi,

I am trying to follow the directions that you gave me, but when I click on the Hijackthis link to download it, but when I run it it is attempting to install ZillapopupKiller. Thanks for any input anyone may have on this. I am ready to throw this computer out the window!

Please disregard my previous message, I figured out what I was doing wrong. Here are both of my logs. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do next?

do you know what the following are?

[aiepk] C:\Downloads\aiepk2.exe
[Zilla Popup Killer] C:\Program Files\Zilla Popup Killer\ZillaPop.exe

if not, i would delete them.

you appear to have a lot of unnecesary **** running that im not familiar with, not sure if its all legit, or could be part of your problem, but i would definatly delete that zillapop directory and everything in it.

what did u run first, ewido, or hijack?
