Default [FIXED]Internet Connection Problems

Hey guys, Thanks in Advance.
I don't know wheter its just a setting that someone who uses my computer has changed or wheter its a problem. When the computer is left doing nothing for a while. I'll come back to it and it will have disconnected from the internet (Working offline?) Im on Broadband so im usually always connected.
Any help would be much appreciated.

So the connection is "timing out" ? Can you tell us some more information:

Windows version
How you connect to the 'net
Make/model number of your network card
Do you use a router?
Is it wireless?

Hey,
I am on Windows XP Pro, And i connect to the net through a cable modem. (on broadband wheter that makes a difference) . Its not wireless. Network card ?:huh:

Its a Terayon TJ210. Im on NTL.

Your setup shouldn't do that...so...

Right click on the "my computer" icon and select "properties" - click on the "hardware" tab and hit the Device manager button. Locate your network card (under Network adapters) and double click on it. If you have a power saving or power management tab have a look in there as you may have a tick box that says something like "shut off the device to save power" - un-tick it and press ok to all the open windows. Re-boot and that should solve your problem.

My internet works fine now and does time out anymore.
