Hi,

A friend of mine is looking to start a forum and wants to use either vB or IPB, I just wanted to know what you guys think.

I would have to say invision, I have it and it seems to have a better admin panel and more features then vB right now, plus it's slightly cheaper.

SMF. I do enjoy IPB, and I will use the 2.0 unlimited trial I have, however, to begin with, I would go SMF because it's free, and then convert later, so you don't spend a bunch of money and then have your site go down the toilet.
