in theroy shouldn't i still be able to plat games online with a 512 broadband because i, in the evenings am running at around 600 and my ping is in the 150+ area. Is it actually my computer becasue i used to have 56k and upgraded can some help me cheak theat my setting on my pc and modem are correct

erm and work this out too, i'm now running at 302 however my ping is 60. this makes no sence at all.???????

Hi there HL - your ping times depend entirely on the connection to the server you are playing the games on. I play BF2 ALOT and I have a 2mbit connection. The ping times of the servers I use range from 20 to 160+ - obviously I choose the server with the lowest ping times for that particular gaming session.

yeh but thats the fastest servers in the evening that are 150 the ones abroad are in the 700

it is really annoying, I think it is tiscali Broad band over fill there servers

Well, umm no. But you could increase your MTU as it may be set wrongly (definition)
