Default Download Problem

After roughly a couple of minutes any file I am downloading simply stops and pauses, likewise anything i am streaming stops after a short period of time. I don't lose my internet connection and I am still able to browse. However I have no problem downloading files from programs like limewire and kazaa.

Any Ideas?

Thanks

Hi there Sparks , welcome to PCHF.

Let's first have a look for mal-ware problems , if you follow the instructions in the "Prework" link below and post the 2 log files then we'll have a look at that for you.

 Hi Sparks,

Can you please download and run Housecall from my signature, and let it fix everything it finds.

And go to add and remove programs and uninstall "surfsidekick 3" there if present.

Then boot into Safe Mode, tap F8 when you boot up.

Make sure that your System Recovery is still off!

Run CCleaner with ALL options selected, including Advanced, click OK to all warnings. Click on Analyze, the Run Cleaner. Exit CCleaner.

Reinstall HijackThis!, it is very important that you make sure it is installed in its own folder, not running from a temp folder or desktop.

Check mark the following and fix them if they are still present. Then delete the files and folders in bold.

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {02EE5B04-F144-47BB-83FB-A60BD91B74A9} - C:\Program Files\SurfSideKick 3\SskBho.dll

O20 - Winlogon Notify: antidb - C:\WINDOWS\assembly\antidb.dll (file missing)
Run CCleaner again, reboot into normal mode. Run HijackThis again, and post the new log back here.

Look forward to your reply,

TTFN

LGW
