Hey Chris.
- Could you list what connections you currently have under "Network Connection"
In theory you have two "Local Area Connections", one for the DSL and one for the Cable modem, could you try disabling the DSL one by right clicking on it and choosing Disable.
Then try repair the connection for the cable modem.
- Which service provider are you using for the cable?
- We may need to get an installation disk to setup the connection
If that doesn't work then try the following:
Uninstall everything to do with your cable + DSL, and disconnecting your DSL completely from the system.
Then reboot your PC into safemode and go into Device manager, then scroll down to USB and delete everything in the USB list.
Also if there are any of your modems installed in the list you can delete them.
Check your Add/Remove programs to make sure that no drivers are currently installed for either your DSL or Cable modem.
Then reboot your PC with the cable modem connected.
