Question [Answered] internet explorer history

my 2 sons hav recently discovered how to delete from the history, cookies and the temporary internet files any evidence of the things they have been looking at. Is there another way of finding out exactly what they have been on aside from reading the cookies, looking through the temporary internet files, and reading the history?
thanks

Not without file recovery software or an existing keylogger or filter in place.

The best thing to do is purchase software which either logs websites that have been visited or stops them from accessing certain sites.

If you are interested then the following sites may help:

http://www.computer-monitoring.com/

http://www.systracker.com/ - good piece of software, bit advanced but saves every page. (trials available)
Nice little picture here - http://www.systracker.com/Monitor_Internet_Usage.asp

http://www.softactivity.com/spy-software.asp

These pieces of software can be hidden and will run in the background without anyone knowing but you. Remove all traces of it from start menu so only you know how to access it.

Nice one Spacekid3750,

Open your registry through regedit (START? >? RUN? ?> REGEDIT then press enter) and browse to the following location:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\TypedURLs

You should see previously viewed pages.

IE is the only one that loggs typed URLs. Because you uninstalled IE, it probably deleted the IE key.
