Default [Pending] Windows XP - Save As problem

When using WordPad or FireFox and saving a file, the file save dialog box comes up. When I try to change the directory in which the file is to be saved, the application hangs, and then I have to kill it using Task Manager.
Is anyone else facing this problem out there, and if yes, any advice for me?
Thanks and regards

Default Re: Windows XP - Save As problem

Firstly, re-install both applications.

You can re-install Wordpad by doing this:
Control panel, add/remove programs, Windows setup, accessories, details. remove check mark beside Wordpad, click OK. Then go back into Control panel, add/remove programs, Windows setup, accessories, details and put the check mark back in. Click OK. You may be prompted for your Windows CD.

Download the latest version of Firefox and un-install your current version before installing the new one.

Also, do you have System Restore turned on?
