What sort of internet connection do you have and how do you get on with it?

I'm with NTL and use their 1MB broadband connection. I've been an NTL customer for over 3 years now starting with their 600K service. I upgraded to the 1MB because we now have 3 computers in the house regularly using the net.

The service has been very reliable with minimal downtime over the 3 years. It was a little shaky to start of with but once they sorted out the various levels of signal strength its been ok.

The speed has always been consistent with most pages appearing within the blink of an eye. Downloads run between 105Kb and 125Kb.

I use my connection for the following:

1) General surfing (motor racing, IT, forums)
2) Email (of course)
3) Remote access to work (very handy)
4) Music downloads
5) Shopping (ebay)

Lets here about your experiences good or bad.

I have broadband from Demon 512kbps and i have been very pleased with it. I have had it since last year.

I use it for the following:

Online PC Gaming
Internet

I am with NTL in the UK also @ 1Mbps.

It's pretty good - I certainly have no complaints....apart from..I want 2Mbps for the same price.. rotest:

NTL won't have that

Give it 12 to 18 months they will.

I'm still on the good old 56k dial-up. Download speed can sometimes reach 11 kbps and hold steady :o My mum refuses to sign a new contract even if I provide her with the cash. 3 more years................

I could not imagine going back to dialup, its almost like another world now. Sorry not rubbing it in. Does you mum use the net?
