Default AVG Installation and configuration

After downloading/purchasing Panda you need to setup the program
  1. Execute 'avg71free_362a652.exe' (where 71 indicates the version, and 62a652 indicates the build so this might differ)
  2. Press next when confronted with the next screen (click on the image for an enlargement)
  3. Accept the license agreement, after reading it carefully offcourse and press Accept
  4. Now your system will be checked
  5. Select custom installation and press next when the screen below appears
  6. Your user name and a generated license number will appear. When necessary change your name, but leave the license code intact . Press next
  7. Now choose the installation folder, pressing next is o.k. unless you want to install to a different location. Also the warning below will appear after pressing next, choose yes
  8. Check all options when asked to install the components and press next
  9. Now the email component shows up. Check all boxes next to emailprograms you've installed on your system and press next
  10. Now a summary of the installation will appear, review all settings and choose finish
  11. AVG will now be installed, this will take several seconds to a few minutes, depending on the configuration of your computer
  12. After installing, press 'ok' you don't need to restart your computer
  13. You'll be congratulated on installing AVG. Click through all the screens and read the contents, AVG will be explained in a few short texts.
  14. After installing you'll see the grayish icon in the system tray, this is AVG. Also the warning will appear your definitions are not up to date.
  15. We'll solve this problem by going through the dialogs and pressing 'check for updates'
  16. After connecting to the server press update'
  17. All options in AVG are set as they should be. the last thing we do is performing a full system scan. Goto the control centre and scan all local drives
  18. Congratulations, you're done
