After downloading Avast! you need to setup the program
- Locate and execute the downloaded installation file (setupeng.exe)
- The setup screen will appear, press 'Next'
- The readme file will be presented, press 'Next'
- Choose 'I Agree' when the license agreement is presented (after reading it first...)
- Next, this screen will be presented (click on the images for a bigger one)

- choose typical configuration for maximum protection
- Choose next when the summary of the installation is presented
- Next, select 'no' when asked if Avast! needs to scan your harddrive after installation

- After the installation is completed select 'restart now' and ok

- After restarting these
icons will appear in your taskbar, these give access to Avast!
- Next, it's time to update Avast. Rightclick on the 'A-icon' and select 'Update'. This can take quite a while, so sit back and relax. When the update is finished it might be necessary to restart when the program engine was updated. When asked to, restart.
- After updating (and rebooting) rightclick on the "A-icon' once again and choose 'Start Avast antivirus'. You'll be given this screen

- Select program registration and fill out the webform. Afterwards, you'll receive the registration key by email containing the serial
- After entering the serial you'll be confronted with this screen allowing you to configure Avast

- Click the topright icon (the harddrive) and change all settings to 'on'
- Change 'Standard scan' to 'Thorough scan' and check the box next to 'scan archives'
- Close the screen by choosing 'ok'
- Now rightclick the 'A-icon' (on the left, the one in the middle) and select 'On-access Protection' to configure On-access scanning
- Move the slider to 'High' when you experience problems you can change this to 'Normal' though this is not reccomended. Choose 'ok'
- Now your system is protected
Note: The following screen can appear when installing, after installing or when using Avast when you have Microsoft Anti Spyware installed choose 'allow' and uncheck 'send to spynet'
