Default Panda (titanium) setup and configuration

Note: this tutorial applies to panda titanium 2006 but can also be used to install and configure previous versions of panda.
  1. Execute 'titan6shuk.exe' (downloaded) or start setup.exe (purchased)
  2. Press next when confronted with the next screen, summarizing the content of the installation package
  3. When a antivirus program is allready present you'll receive a warning like this
  4. Do as suggested, uninstall your present scanner, reboot and restart the installation
  5. Accept the license agreement, after reading it carefully offcourse
  6. Select custom installation
  7. Only check Scan memory during installation
  8. Check all options checked below for maximum protection, unless you allready have a firewall you want to continue using
  9. Use the Titanium firewall instead of the windows firewall, since the titanium firewall also blocks outbound traffic, unlike the windows firewall
  10. Allow the sending of data to Panda. They have a strict policy and your computer is not identified, only by a unique program id. If this bothers you, uncheck the box.
  11. Select 'yes' and press finish to reboot your computer
  12. When you've installed the trial version the next screen will appear, press close
  13. You get a new taskbar icon which is Panda:
  14. Rightclick on the Panda icon and select 'open panda titanium'
  15. Now you can either activate, when you've bought Panda, Buy, when your trial has expired, or press continue to start the trial
  16. Now you'll see the panda interface. The first step is to choose 'update' antivirus
  17. After updating you'll be adviced to scan your harddrive. Since we haven't scanned it before choose 'new scan'->'scan all my computer'
  18. After scanning, continue and choose 'settings' on the left to start finetuning panda
  19. Next goto Automatic protection settings->antivirus protection->configure scan exclusions. Here you can select files you don't want to be scanned by panda. All other autoprotect options are set as secure as possible, so you can leave those
  20. After confirming the changes goto settings->full scan settings->heuristic scan settings. Check the enable heuristic scanning box, this will allow the detection of unknown viruses.
  21. Now goto updates settings->internet access settings. Here you can configure, when necessary, your proxysettings
  22. You're done, you've set up panda

Thanks though I'll take the advice of creating thumbnails to make the tutorials a little less confusing
