Default Looking for new HDD

system specs are: MS x58 Platinum SLI MB, Intel core i7 920 2.66gHz, 6 GB RAM, nvidia Geforce GTX 260

is this compatible? Welcome to Western Digital US Online Store

I currently have 2 HDDs according to the guy who built my comp at Frys, one for the OS and the other for everything else.

I also have been having an on going problem with my system where occasionally it will freeze into that infinite loop thing. temp and RAM is not the issue here, both have been looked into, the guy at Frys said maybe the HDD was the prob, anyone agree?

the HDD is probobly the only thing i didn't replace when I had my new rig built, i took the HDD from my HP.

Hello Tomc, Welcome back to PCHF!

As far as I can see that hard drive would work fine.

As for your freezing question, I have marked your thread as open to gain a techs input

Regards,

Smokeycheech

its a Western Digital Something or another........naw im not really sure, when i go through the device manager it identifies them as "WDC WD3200AAJS-65VWA0 ATA Device"

the lord Jesus Hosephat Christ and/or David the Gnome knows wtf all that means. Every other piece of hardware gets named specifically.

now its just freezing for no reason what so ever. I'm going to throw this out the window or at the people who built it soon if I can't figure out what's wrong. Seriously, i'll be reading a forum and it'll take a ****!
