Angry Sata Hard drive issues
I just finished building a new computer with 100% new parts everythig is working fine except i cannot get the thing to find the 2 additional harddrives i want to install.The system setup fine on the first 200 GB WD drive i installed but when i try to a second drive it just does not work the bios does see it and list it with the correct model info but shows a size of 0.0 /mb.. for the details i have tried this with 7 of the same make and model drives that i have they are all WD3200AVBS drives. They do not show up in windows when i can get it to boot with 1 of the additional drives connected most of the time the computer just cycles on and off when i hook the extra drive up. at this time i have tried everything i can think of fdisk,Hirens boot cd,norton,part magic, I am truly stumped on this one i didnt have this problem when i built the last computer with 5 of these same drives in it. any help will be terrific and will prevent me from pulling out anymore of my sparce hair at this time

Hi the first this to do would be to update your bios to the latest version give that a shot

Hi
I saw that your drives are SATA .
Let's start from simple things:
  • Are the drives present in Disk Management?
  • Are the drives formatted? Windows cannot see them if not
  • What happens if you disconnect your system drive and try to install windows (what version really?) on one of those elusive drives?
  • If you succeed installing windows, re-connect your original system drive to the SATA port it was before, and see if you can see the other drive now.

the drives are not showing up anywhere
windows xp pro sp2 retail will not install on the drive
the only place the drive shows up is in the bios and it shows up as 0.0mb

I Can Fix This  I Need Help
