Hello and welcome to PCHelpForum.

Is the hard drive showing in my computer or device manager?

The case may of failed.However removing the hard drive from the case very carefully and fitting internaly as a slave drive into your computer you maybe able to access it.

Hi,

I have a similar problem.
* The light is on.
* Previously the drive made 2 little "sqeaks" when it started up. Now it makes no noise.
* There is some vibration in the drive, but maybe this could be due to a cooling fan.
* The disk manager shows that a disk is attached, but it is not available in explorer.
* The icon in the bottom right of the screen used to safely remove usb devices also acknowledges the device.

I have a feeling it's a mechanical problem, as I recently moved house.
Has anyone had a similar problem fixed successfully?
