What happens if you disconnect ALL the IDE HDDs and just use SATA?

Your most likely solution is a dif/new motherboard. You can't get around hardware limitations/conflicts without swapping the hardware. See my post above.

Then 4 SATAs is no problem.

Add IDEs to wifes PCs if compatable.

You have 4 SATA in your computer and share drives over a network?

Its a motherboard limitation, it can only support so many drives. The only solution is to buy a new motherboard or build a server

I had 3 in without the IDEs, but yes, the drives share across the network.

Alright.. I'm not sure if you're purposefully ignoring AW and myself, but I'll say it one more time just in case you accidentally missed our posts.

It's a hardware limitations. You can either compromise with how many HDs you use, or you get a new motherboard. (Or spread the HDs across multiple comps, or go with a designated server comp)
