Angry \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging operation'

i have an acer aspire 5100 laptop and quite often it doesn't boot up giving me some error saying something about realtek pci ethernet? After turning off and on a few times it boots up ok. the error in event viewer is 'An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\D during a paging operation'.

can anyone help? i've formatted hd and put clean version of windows on but hasn't made any difference? check disk doesn't bring up any problems either?

Welcome to the site joemilia,

Although this problem looks as though it relates to your ethernet card, it would be wise to download the very latest chipset drivers for your laptop, as it could relate to the IDE/SATA interface/drivers for your hard drive.... i have already downloaded latest drivers when i wiped it and put clean install of windows on it. would a dodgy ethernet card crash system and stop it from booting up? and how does the event log relate to an ethernet problem?
