Default Secondary Hard Drive problem

There was a power outage in my area yesterday for about 1-2 hours while I was at work. When i came home my pc wouldn't read my DVD-RW or secondary Hard Drive. A simple reboot fixed the DVD-RW issue but the drive won't read. There has been no click of death with the drive so I have no idea what's going on. Help?

Hello suprememath, welcome to PCHF.

So it's just the secondary hard drive at the moment? Do you actually see the drive in My Computer? And if so, what is the excat error message you receive when you try to access it?

the drive isn't available in My Computer, Its like the drive doesnt exist on the PC. I tried to do a system restore and got the message that "Changes to drive E cannot be restored because either it wasn't under System Restore or the drive has been removed or turned off"

OK, do you see it under BIOS, normally either [DEL], [F10] or [F2] when you first start your PC?
