Default Disk recovery software?

Hi,

Recently I had a laptop pass on to a quieter life due to suspected motherboard failure.

Just before it passed on it started to encounter bad clusters in it's internal HDD.

I have taken the HDD out (120Gb IDE) and housed it in a case with USB cable. When I connect it to the USB port of my new computer, however, the disk spins but the computer asks me to "Insert a disk into drive..."

Having now learnt my lesson on backing up I'd really like to get any info I can off this HDD, if possible.

Does anyone know of some software that could allow me to achieve this?

Thanks vry much

WIO

Default Re: Disk recovery software?

you could try hirens or a linux live cd to see if you can see it outside of windows but imo your chances are slim. A pro could recover some of ti but it wont be cheap.
