Computer comes up in stand by. I have tried all 5 option ( last good setup, cont to windows, open in safe mode etc) All that happens it is shuts down and restarts again. This is continuious.
Nothing has been installed, removed or altered since last use. Tried unplugging.

chances are you are getting a blue screen error best thing to do is a repair instal of windows using your xp cd
