My Toshiba extern hard drive is about 1 year old and since yesterday I had a problem. I was busy with Paint, I saved an image to the HD and suddenly the window freezed. Rebooted pc and I saw some of my pictures missing and unknown files which I can not delete was in a map of the HD.

How can I get rid of these files?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, i have had a similar thing happen before, it is very likely that the files are corrupt due to a system crash. Unless the system has saved them as a temp file you will have lost these files.

However I would wait until one of the experts answers before you give up all hope
