Default [Fixed] New Guy - Need Some Hard Drive Help

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and I need some help. I just bought a new Gateway GT5658E computer with 2 500 Gig harddrives and it has windows vista. My two drives were labeled C and E drive. C contains all my system files, windows, etc. and the E drive was empty. So I was wanting to partition the E drive and install Windows XP and run the computer as a multiboot system. Well, I was having a little trouble partitioning the drives and I accidentally clicked on the E drive and clicked "Mark as active drive". My C drive is also set to active drive. Luckily it didn't cause any problems, but now everytime I restart my computer autoplay runs my E drive like a new device. I have already tried running my system restore from a previous restore point before I accidentally did this and I have tried formatting the drive and neither of these things corrected the active status. Is there anything I can do to "UNmark the drive as active"? Thank you guys!

Hello and welcome to PC Help Forum.

This may help you?

1. Open Computer Management by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, clicking Administrative Tools, and then double-clicking Computer Management.* If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
2. In the Navigation pane, under Storage, click Disk Management.
3. Right-click the volume, such as a partition or logical drive, that you want to delete, and then click Delete Volume.
4. Click Yes to delete the volume.

The resulting empty space is called unallocated space if you deleted a primary partition, or free space if you deleted a logical drive within an extended partition. You can now use the empty space to create additional volumes.
