Smile [Answered] Switching HDs

Okay so on my PC I have a C Drive(Main Drive with WIndows files etc) (29.9GB), an H Drive (113GB) and another utilities driver J (5GB)

Would it be possibly to switch the H and C so that the main drive (Boot Sector HD) had 113 and the secondary had 29.9?

Recommend you keep your boot drive as the smaller drive.
The bigger the boot drive is the slower the operating system will work.

Hi Dillan,

Partitioning software is not normally able to resize partitions without first destroying the data (effectively removing and recreating the partition at the desired size).

However, there is one software package that can do it, providing that you have the free space to move the partitions around (only using 29.9gb on drive h: or less), and this is Acronis. Unfortunately, it also comes with a price tag: Acronis Partition Manager - disk partitioning for Windows (Vista/XP/2000): resize disk partition, copy, move, split and merge partitions

Hi again Dillan use this Ranish Partition Manager - Reviews and free Ranish Partition Manager downloads at Download.com

You can then make C+H drive as one big C drive.

Dillan has decided against resizing his partition.

After looking at the programm and how difficult it could be he has decided against resizing.
