Default pc sometimes doesnt recognise hard drives

please help sometimes on starting up my pc doesnt find my hard drives, sometimes it finds 1 sometimes both sometimes neither of them or any of my disk drives and sometimes it looses connection half way through doing something. if i restart it sometimes it cures the problem sometimes not, without touching anything it seems to just sort itself for a while then only shows the master drive and sometimes it just freezes completely i guess cuz its lost the master drive again.... ANYWAY PLEASE HELP. many thanx in advance to any one good enough to reply

Ok are you familiar to BIOS settings?Or the insides of a PC?

What type of hard drives have you got?IDE or SATA?

cant acess bois password protected plus same problem with hard drives when put them in diff computer

To by pass BIOS password turn off PC and unplug from power supply take out BIOS battery for 1 minute replace then reboot PC.

What type of hard drives are they?SATA or IDE?If IDE did you set jumprers to master or slave?

If both SATA did you setup a RAID?

they are sata drives, have same problem when put them in other pc. what do you do after rebooting after removing battery?

sorry both drives are ide, dont know if slave has jumper on it
