Default boot error

Hi im a newbe and id like a little help if possable,i insalled a new Motherboard and cpu my old board had 2 ide slots so i could run my dvd roms and hd,the new board has 1 ide slot so i got a ide to sata mini bridge to run hd from ata plug.everything went fine when i fired it up it all checked out except no hard drive,i checked all plugs redid it all same thing boot failed,this mini bridge did not come with a manual but there is a jumper pin on it,i moved it but same thing.now do my jumpers on hd have to be reset or something else?Motherboard is ecs nforce 6m-a dont know if that helps the Motherboard manual didnot say anything about jumper settings.ths mini bridge should be picked up rightaway plug@play any help would be great..thankyou C.Valley hard drive is seagate barrcuda 7200-7 160 g cpu is amd dual core 5600 Motherboard supports ide, when i boot it up everything comes up and checkes out on the monitor when i put in driver or win xp it can not load because no hard drive found.I have to leve for awile ill be back very soon..thankyou

Hi valley and welcome to PCHF.
To better assist you we need your system specs, could you please go to "User CP" above, click on "Edit Options", and fill them in there, making sure that the option to allow others to view them says "Yes", this will display them under your username, as mine are.

Hello and welcome to PC Help Forum.

So you bought a IDE-SATA convertor?So is your HDD IDE?If yes then its jumper should be set to master depending on what make the HDD is.

Are you sure you have the DVD/CD rom IDE cable in correct IDE port on mainboard?

Does the HDD show up on post screen?

Are you getting any error codes?

Could you please check your BIOS settings?Such as SCSI settings and IDE is it set to auto detect HDDs in BIOS?
